A Californian evening a while ago at Harvey Nichols was pleasant, with their chief wine buyer Alex Ignatieff giving an entertaining commentary on the wines - mainly the personalities around them rather than worthy but dull stuff about canopy management. I noted a good Chardonnay from Kistler and a fine Merlot from Schafer. (Toby)
